Kasey has lived her life as an advocate. She spent time in the foster care system before being legally emancipated and moving out on her own while still a senior in high school. Kasey worked hard, graduated with honors and was admitted to Augustana University. After spending time as an intern for Senator Tim Johnson in Washington, D.C., Kasey found her passion to help others. She received dual bachelor’s degrees from Minnesota State University, Mankato, before being admitted to the University of South Dakota, School of Law. Since graduating from law school, Kasey has dedicated a large portion of her career to helping children in the abuse and neglect system and giving back to the community.
